I wasn't able to use my normal gym so I found this nice squat rack. I'm making it work on the back deck but I will advise anyone who purchases this to mount it on the floor. Grind, I would like to see some type of mount to keep this rack sturdy when re-racking during any bench press or squat. I've looked all over for something--it's the one worry besides not having a spotter--that I have when pushing heavy weights. Grind, would like to see more from you, such as an incline bench, french curl bar or just something else that makes our home gym lives easier. I would recommend this rack.
So far it’s been great BUT it could improve at least two things in my opinion. 1. The orange rubber on the barbell supports could be extended to cover the entire length of them. The end part that goes up to keep the bar from falling off is painted metal so it could damage a bar if you’re worried about that. 2. The safety barbell catch arms are also painted metal. I think they should also be covered in plastic or rubber in case they are ever used. This way, the bar and the arms will remain undamaged. Besides that, it’s great. It’s sturdy for pull ups and I’m confident when I’m using it to bench press or squat. For the price, I’d easily buy it again.
This is a great rack was easy to put together. Fits perfectly in my basement To add to my home gym area I put together. Really appreciate the first responder discount also.
So far, so good with this squat rack. Great for all major barbell exercises. Sturdy and no surprises.
